1. Overview & "Privacy by Design" Philosophy
Pyramid Secure Notes is architected on the fundamental principle of Privacy by Design. We believe that your private notes, sensitive thoughts, confidential documents, and personal images should remain entirely under your personal control.
Unlike traditional cloud-based note applications that transmit your content to remote servers for indexing, sync, or monetization, Pyramid Secure Notes works in total isolation on your device. We do not maintain remote user accounts, advertising profiles, or telemetry collection systems.
2. Data Collection
We collect zero personal data.
When you download, install, or use Pyramid Secure Notes, we do not record or monitor any aspect of your activity. Specifically:
-
No Usage Tracking We do not track feature usage, button clicks, or session duration.
-
No IP Address Logging We do not capture your IP address or internet service provider details.
-
No Location Tracking We never request or collect GPS coordinates or geographic metadata.
-
No Account Credentials No registration, email address, or phone number required to use the app.
3. Data Storage & Local Encryption
All your data—including text notes, attached images, tags, settings, and encryption keys—is stored exclusively on your user device.
Encrypted in local SQLite / Keychain sandbox using AES-256 GCM.
Stored in encrypted app storage. Never uploaded or synced.
Generated locally and protected by standard OS Secure Enclave / Keystore.
Because your encryption keys never leave your device hardware, even if someone obtains physical access to an encrypted file backup, it cannot be decrypted without your local master passcode or biometric auth.
4. Third-Party Sharing
We do not share any data with third parties—because we do not have access to your data.
Pyramid Secure Notes operates without third-party SDKs, ad networks, crash reporting services (like Firebase or AppCenter), or data brokers.
No Facebook SDK, no Google Analytics, no Flurry, no tracking cookies, and no third-party cloud sync APIs embedded inside the application binary.
5. Device Permissions Breakdown
Pyramid Secure Notes requests minimal device permissions, exclusively to unlock essential local security and usability features. Here is how each permission is strictly bounded:
Camera Permission
Used solely for the optional "Intruder Capture" feature. If enabled, when an incorrect passcode attempt is detected, a photo is captured silently.
Biometric Permission
Used solely for Local Authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, or Android Biometric Prompt) to quickly unlock your vault without typing your master passcode.
Notification Permission
Used solely for delivering scheduled Note Reminders and alerts created by you within the app calendar.
6. Your Rights & Total Data Ownership
Because all data resides exclusively on your local device, you possess total, immediate control over deletion, export, and backups without submitting requests or waiting for data subject access fulfillment.
Local Data Export
Export your encrypted notes database or plain text files at any time via Settings -> Export Vault.
Instant Data Erasure
Uninstalling the app or selecting "Format Local Vault" immediately and permanently destroys all local keys and stored items.
